Sorry Richard but, being genetically a pedant, I have to disagree with you.
  The word motor means "something which creates motion"  (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motor).   So an internal combustion engine, an
electric motor, a rocket engine, four hamsters in a cage, are all motors.
