Russell, They come in two different flavors. One of them is active and the=20 other one is passive. The active one is activated by a person pushing a=20 button on a key fob. This shuts the engine down and it can be setup to=20 lock the doors and disabled the windows if they are electric. A video=20 camera can be setup to come on when the system is triggered. The engine=20 will still crank but it won't start. The passive one has a small transmitter that is active when ever=20 the driver or the owner drives their car. It is a RFID type setup and=20 once the car drives out of range the engine shuts down. The driver=20 doesn't have to do anything except keep the key fob in their pocket.=20 This system does everything else that the active system does. When the engine quits the thief thinks that he grabbed a bad car=20 and he takes off. Remember most thieves don't want a confrontation They=20 just want the car. Thanks, rich!
