I have a nice Sony Laptop with that problem. If the battery is not=20 authentic and the motherboard does not like the way you charged it, no=20 joy! Replacement batteries were/are $140. It is of Vista vintage and=20 otherwise a good laptop. My solution was to buy no more Sony. I have=20 been a good long term customer.
