Have had the very occasional and sometimes rowdy altercation with the guardians, but those are generally toe to toe and eye to eye, with no lights involved on either side. FWIW our Police pretend not to carry guns and we pretend to believe them and it seems to work out very well the very very large majority of the time. We all know that they all have a gun-safe in the front between the seats and that while it usually contains a Glock or few, it's sometimes empty. Emptying it takes no time, but probably requires a subsequent annoying amount of related paperwork. Overall the arrangement seems to benefit all involved if you look at the stats compared with various other places. Our % incarcerated is closer to that of the US than is most others, but very few don't live in the process.
