There are lots of things to consider in comparing costs between EVs and=20
ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) vehicles.
power cost vs fuel cost
cycle cost $1.6 to $2.5 per cycle
ICE service costs fluids/filters/belts/labour
ICE Engine wear/ Exhaust systems
Electric motor maintenance is significantly less barring major failures=20
Brushes/bearings

We installed grid connect Solar PV at home and try to charge when the=20
output covers the load.

There was a question about Driveability, with a brushed DC motor maximum=20
torque is at stall whereas an ICE is usually over 5000 rpm, we usually=20
take off in 5th gear, if you want a quick getaway use 4th. It is the=20
controllers job to prevent damage to the gearbox so the mapping limits=20
the starting current.

The motor is big (72Kg) you can overload by 4 to 1 for 30 seconds (from=20
the datasheet) so 10KW becomes 40KW (13hp - 52hp) the original ICE was=20
46KW @ 5600rpm
