Reminds me, I had been fiddling with CCT using the limited consumer market choices over the past ten years, and finally found some fragment of data (sorry, no reference) that pointed out cool white should be used where overall illumination is substantial and people need to be able to discern colour differences, and warm white should be used where the overall illumination is minimal. I've also noticed that cool white is more likely to wake me, or keep me awake.
