The scope feature is not present in older Excels BUT can be replicated by clicking on the sheet part of the name in the "Tefers to" box in Alt-i N D and then deleting it. You do not seem to be able to do this with keyboard alone as eg tabbing to the cell puts curcsor at rh end of the name, the end and home keys do NOT move curcor to the start of the name and the cursor keys move the linked selection marker on the spreashsheet. BUT once you click anywhere on the sheet part of the name you can use the left/right cursor keys or delete or backspace as desired. Rather arcane. It's "always" been there but very hard to access. The new versions makes accessing a semi-hidden and somewhat ring-walled feature easier. There MAY be a "proper" way to do it in the older versions (eg Excel 2002 that I happen to be using on this PC) Thanks Russell --=20 http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
