Imagine the 8 posts are 1m in diameter. Then the fence would be
8m long. You could argue, perhaps mathematically, that the 1m
diameter of each post represents the frequency range of each
note. As in, when does Ab become A ? If it's less than 440Hz,
is it Ab ? Who says ?

If that fence was a fretboard, like a guitar, then you'd need a 9th
fret to make the 8th note
