In the provided instructions, as the only option, they start off by USB cloning the existing O/S drive and then insert the SSD as the boot drive. None of which is what I want. I do not want to clone an existing drive - I want to plug it in as a standard drive and use it to speed up access to photos during editing etc. When I install it physically as a SATA drive it is reported as: DVD RW Drive (D:) Samsung SSD 0 bytes free of 37.1 MB UDF Yes, that is MB. And, yes, that is DVD :-). There are no obvious extra partitions shown when I use the normal tools. I could try deleting the 37 MB partition or formatting it or painting it Octarine. I suspect that all such efforts would end up with the same outcome.
