Exactly - As any piano tuner will tell you. Tuning to minimize

the ear's (and mind's) perceived discordance between "scales"

was once referred to as "tempering", as in "The Well-Tempered

Clavier"; an art form in it's own right.

If you're a guitar player, like Joe, and have a good ear, like Joe,

you've wrestled with this as long as you've been playing.

There's no canned solution that I'm aware of - You pick your poison.
