I don't know what that feels like as it leaves, but when it arrives here it
sounds somewhat like " ... and your mother wears army boots".
With any luck DCB is thicker skinned than I may momentarily feel like being
if I was on the receiving end. [I'd no doubt not actually go beyond
considering taking a point off my mental assessment of sender, and deciding
it wasn't worth even that, but my attention would probably have been
momentarily attracted.]

And, maybe, that was not meant to be a (mildish) put down, and maybe it
never occurred to you that it could be taken that way and maybe DCB never
took it that way either, and maybe I'm just being unnecessarily sensitive
on somebody else's behalf.

I would have thought that summat like

"Just about right.  Note that the PICLIST footer is *never* relevant for
inclusion in quoted text.  (Unless, of
course, you are using it
...."

But, maybe not.
