Note directional aerials.
I have tried 5.8GHz for video in my house and could not get noise-free=20
signal over about 20 feet (through wooden floor and plasterboard walls.

Other ideas:-
  leaky coax system (under carpets etc)
  l-o-n-g (inductive) loop round whole site - as used in theatres/churches?
