Richard - Perhaps you are familiar with the proposition, "Who says A, must say B" ? If so, then I suggest delving into the medical research literature, with an eye to learning the language. If it takes you a few years, don't get discouraged - Medical "statistics" practises alone will keep you busy for quite a while. It helps to have a well-recognized focus for your reading - I'm fortunate in that respect, I guess, in that diabetes has attained the status of a Plague in the modern world. Good luck. One more thing - Overtly political comments are discouraged on the list. This is a good thing, for obvious reasons. If they are'nt obvious, one of our esteemed moderators will disturb his repose as necessary to en- courage you to understand - Or go away. Your choice. Nobody wants you to go away.
