Hi all, I want to make a network switch. No...it's not what you think. I want to be able to physically interrupt a gigabit network connection. Bonus points for an A/B instead of just an on/off. I'm doing this right now by physically connecting and disconnecting cables, but it would be nice to be able to do this remotely and/or automatically. If this wasn't a high speed data signal, I'd just use something like relays or some kind of semiconductor switch. However, I'm not sure what sort of complications I'll run into if I try that on this signal. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I won't have much time to respond for the next day or two, but I wanted to give everyone time to think! I will do my best to pop in and out though as I'll be traveling, internet might be scarce. Thanks!
