Mag amps were still in the inventory when I was a young

serviceman - And had been for quite a while; for instance

WW2 SCR-584 (radar) directed AAA employed them as

servo amplifiers, IIRC. The Navy used them extensively

afloat, for everything from gun-laying to nuclear reactor

control circuitry, because of their inherent high reliability.

High fun-to-play-with factor, too...  :)
