I don't know what he thought he was doing as IF he had checked with his computer people (who he was definitely in contact with given other questions he asked me) they would have told him the car WAS registered. I was leaving a city about ?5? hours drive from home on the way to collect a caravan I had bought the day before but it blew a tyre* about 30 miles North of the city and I spent a day or so finding a replacement (For Anglia OR Monaro as it turned out). After getting the ticket I went back into town to check registration and pay it if needed. Late at night, only had netbook with WiFi, Macdonalds closed but free WiFi still running (the night windows said) BUT it was dead. Netbook battery flat. Agh. Went to a local service station, persuaded them to let me plug into spare power point under the pie warmer. On WiFi found a nearby motel with a country wide group scheme. Joined scheme. Tried to register car. It WAS registered. Same computer system that Police would have accessed. MUCH more to the story but he was playing games. Back to caravan., Fit wheel. .... home. R * [Tyre blew at about max legal speed with caravan.
