Often I cycle down to the supermarket late at night, very quiet
and not much traffic around. Several of the lights between here
and there must be on timers with a vehicle over-ride. If I get to
one that's red I'll have to wait an absolute age for it to turn green
unless at least one car turns up next to me.

On the odd occassion when I can see no cars in any direction
I'll jump the red, but there are so many unmarked police cars
around these days .....
