Peter, You got that one right. MS says that only about 10% of the systems=20 out there are running XP. I think it is closer to 50%. Now Oracle no=20 longer supports XP. So we are being forced to upgrade. My hardware will=20 support Win7 but it won't support Win8. I am missing the NX bit in the=20 processor. I have PAE and the other requirement. The thing is to equal the performance of my Dual AMD Tyan system I=20 figure that I am going to have to spend close to $2500. Ouch!. I just=20 fixed a friends machine and I checked it for the processor requirements.=20 Nope no NX bit. It will support 7 but not 8. He doesn't do with his=20 machine what I do with mine and I figure he is going to have to spend=20 about $500-$600 for just the hardware. I think that there are going to be a lot of mad people when the big=20 picture comes out. This should help Linux. I am seriously considering=20 setting up a dual boot system. I'll use Linux for most things and boot=20 into Windows when I want to play a game or if I need Visual Studio for=20 something. Thanks, rich!
