Jan-Erik, I don't think Win7 will last more than another year or two. So why=20 spend $150 now and in two years have to spend another $175 on top of=20 what the hardware will cost. I'll just set up a dual boot system. I use=20 Thunderbird and Firefox. No big deal. The software for the PICs and the=20 Arduino will run under Linux. Most of my other software will also work=20 under Linux. MS office, MS Studio, and my games require Windows. But all of this has given me an idea of how I might be able to fix=20 MpLab X. I'm going to go hunting for an earlier version of Java. I just=20 had to keep digging, asking, and bouncing stuff off of the walls. This=20 might be a solution. Thanks, rich!
