Received from Richard R. Pope at 07/03/2014 08:21 Thursday UTC: >James, >My book is the second edition and it has the pocket at the back of the boo= k=20 >for the CD. I'm downloading from the link that you sent to me. I believe= =20 >that since I have the book I have a right to the CD. I thought the same thing back in 2005 when I bought the book. I also have the 2nd edition. Not even an empty CD pocket in mine. Got th= e=20 circuit board, but no CD. McGraw Hill eventually told me, after they had=20 stalled me with promising noises until the Amazon 30-day return policy had= =20 expired, that "McGraw-Hill made an internal decision to no longer supply th= e=20 CD with recent printings of the book." They did this without notifying the= ir=20 resellers so the book description could be changed, and without changing th= e=20 Limited Warranty in the back of the book itself. That warranty mentions a= =20 defective CD, but in their minds didn't cover a missing CD. No refund from Amazon, despite having the book only 2 weeks because their=20 warranty (at least at the time) began at time of sale, never mind they took= =20 two weeks to ship. No refund from McGraw-Hill just because they could get= =20 away with not giving one. I was given a link to the author's web site where rather than a ZIP I could= =20 download and unzip, I found (as best I can recall) some individual files th= at=20 seemed to apply to everything in the book in general, then a lot more files= =20 in separate directories broken down by project. I downloaded everything,=20 maintaining the relative file structure and directory names, but none of it= =20 would work together. I also found file names in some images describing fil= e=20 installation that weren't among the files available for download. As I=20 recall I was unable to contact author Predko. Hope you have better luck. If someone wants my book, with unused circuit board, and is willing to pay= =20 shipping, 4 lbs plus weight of packaging, contact me off list. I have no u= se=20 for it.
