But at that level, the differences between on Arduino and another can be a big problem. IMO, the best way to learn the Arduino is to simply dive right in. I really is pretty simple business. SainSmart has an Arduino Uno clone they package with a bunch of parts and have a downloadable series of lessons. The lessons get you going right away and are easy to follow, although the writing is horrid. I picked up their kit "just to see" and it does look like a good way to get started. Of course, if you have already decided on, say, a Due and you have some complex application in mind, it may not be at all relevant.
