Hold Ctrl and Meta while striking x, and you'll be prompted for hex dat= a to enter. I think it's an issue of knowing what the Meta key is. I've always used=20 the Esc key. So, when I press Ctrl and Esc, I get varying results=20 depending on the platform. In a cygwin terminal or a windows emacs qui =20 on a windows machine, it activates the start menu. In a Linux gui, it=20 activates the next window. > Or "ESC Ctrl-x" for old keyboards. Well, there I go then, that works. I may have parsed it if it were M=20 -C-x, but that probably has a different meaning. I also have problems=20 with commands with implicit ARGs, knowing where to put the ARG in the=20 sequence. I'll blame my lack of knowing emacs on a co-worker that intrtoduced a=20 copy of CodeView into the work environment. Prior to getting hooked on=20 Codeview, I even had some project management on Emacs, tags-search=20 commands were favorites. But later, I fell behind with installing the=20 lisp code into new emacs installs on new machines, because not all the=20 commands are built in.
