The *best* way to use git (or any revision control system, for that matter) is when the interface is integrated directly into your editor or IDE. Some editors provide a more or less transparent method for dealing with revision control so that you use the same commands regardless of which RCS you are using. This is not a new concept, btw. It has existed in Emacs at least since I started using it, and that was over 25 years ago.
