emacs has a hex mode, mind boggling search capabilities, is free, and is platform agnostic. I moved to emacs ages ago, perhaps on RSX-11, when it became clear to me that the hardest part pf a new platform was learning the editor, and there is ALWAYS a new platform, no matter how permanent you think the current platform is. (Happens with us old guys.) Unfortunately, it isn't the easiest thing in the world to learn, but once over that hurdle, well worth it. It is also a bit of a religion. --McD On Wed, 2014-06-18 at 20:50 +0100, Luis Moreira wrote: > Hi Guys, > I'm in need of an hex editor, looking for something preferably > free/shareware but will consider paying if it has the features I require. > It needs to have pattern searching and the ability to highlight paterns i= n > diferent colours that can be set. > Any suggestions would be apreciated. > Best Regards > Luis --=20 http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
