As you mentioned you and Bob A. mentioned data separation is pretty good for such attacks. That can be use of a separated computer (aka a tablet or a dedicated PC only for browsing the net) or a Virtual Machine. VMs could be actually quite effective, especially if the guest operating system is different than the host, and the data is perfectly separated -- aka the host's HDD is not mounted as shared drive neither as network drive. At least if you guys use your production computers for internet access then there is something to consider...
