At one stage Microchip were doing a trade in deal on ICD2 to ICD3, it was 2=
0% IIRC. Probably worth hitting up your local Microchip sales rep to see if=
 he can arrange anything.

Don't forget that Microchip will also do a no-fault exchange for free on th=
eir programmers. You need to raise a ticket and they will send you a replac=
ement unit.
