Oh, yes, in the summer, the house including the heat pump cooling can=20 run off our 12KW standby generator, fueled by our gas well. It's a=20 little noisy, but off to the non- sleeping end of the house. We have=20 done that while replacing the aluminum underground service with copper.=20 :) I had several years ago, worked with our power utility (a small=20 Rural Electric Coop where you know nearly everyone by first name) to use=20 a radio controlled switch like for peak shutdown of air conditioning or=20 water heater to start my generator before a rolling blackout (a few=20 years into the future) thing. I had hooked a buzzer to the switch when=20 it was activated, but never was. :( On 6/3/2014 12:51 AM, Bob Blick wrote: > Cut your electric bill in half -- super-sharp carbide scissors make it > easy! > > I forget what magazine this was a parody of, but it had Miss Piggy (from > the Muppets) on the cover. > > Bob > > On Mon, Jun 2, 2014, at 08:06 PM, IVP wrote: > >> "the generator is producing has the potential to lower your electric >> bills by 90%" --=20 http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
