Hello all, If the motherboard and the processor do not support PAE, NX, and=20 SSE2 then Win8.x can not be installed on the computer. So any=20 motherboard and/or cpu older than 5 years probably will not will not=20 have one or more of these. CPU-Z can tell you if these items are=20 available. You know this is MS forcing people to upgrade their hardware.=20 It sounds like it is time for a class action suit. My Opetron processors support the NX bit and SSEx. My motherboard=20 supports SSE1, 2, and 3 but not NX or PAE. It looks like it is the NX=20 bit support that is the killer. If PAE isn't supported you are still=20 limited to 4 GB of ram in 32 bit mode. Of course that limitation goes=20 away in the 64 bit versions. Win7 will run on my system as it does=20 require the NX bit. I just sent an email to Tyan asking them about the=20 NX bit problem. I hope that they respond in a timely manner.
