First guess: the camera was powered off when it got splashed. After two=20 years, it's still pretty amazing that it worked but if the power had=20 been on, it would have died much quicker. I splashed a 2 meter motor-glider with a Canon point-and-shoot camera at=20 sunset one day and a surfer brought out the wreckage about 10 minutes=20 later. I quickly took out the memory card but on trying it at home, it=20 was already dead. Electricity and saltwater: don't try this at home kids.
