One of the things Windows 8.1 will allow is for it to be booted from a=20
virtual machine, so, so long as the boot manager is installed on the PC,=20
you could boot W8.1 from a VHD/VHDX image on another drive (USB even) and=20
still have your physical version of XP on the machine. Or you could convert=
=20
the XP machine to a VM and then run that in W8.1
