It stands for 'Configurable Logic C...' (can't remember the last word).

Microchip have several variations of it, some CLC chips also have an oscill=
ator unit, and there is another variant I don't remember.

To the OP, Microchip have several application notes and technical bulletins=
 where they have bread boarded some uses. IIRC one of them is a Manchester =
Encoder (don't think there is enough capability available to do a decoder).

The way they can be attached to various standard peripherals suggest a numb=
er of possible uses.
