Is there a good way to make a ballpark estimate for assembly costs on this =
sort of job (~100 boards)?
So many cents per pin, or something?

My general impression is that the assembly cost will dominate (by a large a=
mount) costs for the typical "hobby project made good" that has a couple fi=
ne pitch 64 to 100pin micros, a few other chips, and some passives (take so=
mething like the Arduino MEGA or Due as a representative sample.)

(this would also help answer the question of when (count-wise) it makes eco=
nomic sense to have board built for you from OSHW design files, vs buying t=
hem=85)
