I was trying to explain and compare the Micromite to kids used to the PICAXE, and it and the more fully-featured Maximite are certainly reminiscent of the early 80s flood of small computers like the VIC-20, C64, BBC Micro, Acorn, Spectrum etc The original project does have screen output (256 colours and sprites would be nice.
