Hi all, So, after much studying, I am finally starting to use C on PICs. I am currently playing with MPLABX and XC8, as the cost for entry is low (free). Be prepared for many questions! The first is that I'm curious what people are doing in the field in regards to header files. I have read that including xc.h will figure out what chip you have chosen, then include the correct header file for it. However, I've also seen (in a book particularly) that he was including the chip specific header file directly. My thought is that the book might precede the creation of xc.h, but I don't know for sure. What do you use? Why? Thanks!
