My best guess is that CSA certification is NOT needed for a=20 battery-powered device that does not connect to the AC mains, or else=20 connects to the AC mains through an already-certified device. My rational for making that statement is that one of the ways that we=20 avoid paying certification fees is that our devices are powered from=20 an already-certified power supply. Neither CSA or QPS or any of the=20 other NRTL agencies that we use require us to have certification on=20 our devices powered by already-certified supplies. The most that=20 happens is that (sometimes) the inspector verifies that the CSA=20 marking on the power supply is legit. As always, you are best to contact one of the NRTL agencies for=20 verification. Do be sure to pick an agency that isn't trying to get=20 you to pay un-necessary fees. We are pretty lucky in that regard -=20 not only are the local inspectors *really* run off their feet, we've=20 been working with them for long enough that they don't try to hose us=20 more than necessary. dwayne At 06:58 PM 4/3/2014, Denny Esterline wrote: >I was recently approached by a potential customer in Canada and one of the >questions that came up was is our device CSA certified.
