Posted on Fluke's FB page just now (spilling misstooks and awl), fwiw. I have no problem with Fluke protecting their brand. But I can think of better ways to do it: ________________ Re "We look forward to continuing our support of the community, of our customers, and of all the innovators out there." -> You can look. But you will have lost goodwill overall. Certainly Fluke has dropped a notch in my estimation. Fluke's undoubted quality, uncompromising approach to getting it right and creation of a brand image well above most is a matter of record. What you've done here is scratch your paintwork and move a little closer to looking like Apple and HP as they are now and a little further away from looking like HP as they were then. A bit more like Steve :-(. A shame. And no amount of protesting or explaining is going to put things right. When you see the bouncer throwing out the gatecrasher it doesn't matter that the bouncer has every right, or that the gate crasher PROBABLY knew they shouldn't be there. If said bouncer does it with polite style and a deferential 'Sir' , which you know the gatecrasher doesn't deserve and the bouncer does not owe him, it's one up to the bouncer. And when instead he sends him spraling down the street, ear his trousers (but just a little) and flattens his hat, and yells after him "and stay out", the gatecrasher may perhaps lose, but the bouncer surely does. Even if he picks him up afterwards, dusts him down , pats him on the back and gives him a basket of fine Fluke products to sell or dispose of as he sees fit, he's still the bully. A shame. What's the lifetime of messages like this on your site, I wonder. Certainly you have every right to delete them asap. Russell McMahon NZ Has never yet bought a Fluke product. BUT has admired them AND the company for many decades. _____________________ --=20 http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
