They are owned by a big conglomerate along with Tektronix. It's all business now, unless it gets on the nightly news they are not going to do anything to be "nice". They have policies in place for situations like this. Sparkfun is just having growing pains. They are getting big enough to get in these situations, they need to learn how to play a bigger game with sharper knives instead of complaining in a blog. They are wasting a lot of social media goodwill over some cheap imported meters. I remember in 1985 writing a letter to the president of Tektronix and getting a phone call back.
