In the most recent similar incident, Air France Flight 447, in

2009, floating debris was recovered within days of the crash.

Still, it took several years to find the flight recorders.

So far the current Search has no such luxury; the potential

search radius is roughly the range of the aircraft - Thousands

of kilometers. This search could be a long one.
