Re:[OT:] Radio Shack closing 1100 stores. source=3D On an entirely almost unrelated aspect of this particular thread,= I can remember when I was a young squirt in the late 50s, the original Radio Shack was located at 730 Commonwealth Avenue in Boston, Mass. It had no satellite stores, and dealt mostly with ham radio related stuff.=20 I came back from overseas in 1967, and discovered that the Shack had gone national and was concentrating on experimenters; lots of parts and old surplus PCBs good for parts; not much ham stuff at all.=20 Came back from overseas again in 1974 and found Radio shack was mostly chea= p imported electronic gadgets and a few components.=20 Now, mostly cell phones, but still a rather useful assortment of electronic (Arduino stuff; common parts).=20 Interesting metamorphosis. Also, I didnt realize I was getting that old......
