Most (all?) PLDs have JTAG connections and are non-volatile. You can use=20
any suitable header or pogo pins.

I believe a majority of FPGAs are volatile and have various power-up=20
programming methods - serial platform flash (special flash chip),=20
commodity serial flash, parallel flash, etc.
