I'm largely self-taught in all my many varied jobs / hobbies and like to think I see connections between them that the more-formally trained in only one or two disciplines might not. Sometimes novelty ensues. More usually just an interesting afternoon and a conversation piece/ BTW, if I can, I'll cram a PIC into it somewhere.=20 However, having had disagreements with my caller over such basics as Ohm's Law (don't quite believe it), 1/2 CV^2 (just seems wrong), FET protection in motor circuits (you shouldn't really need it, these are faulty FETs, absolutely), how to solder a PCB without making a dog's breakfast of it (all of these boards have internal shorts) etc etc I see him more likely to be in the pigeon-hole marked Magoo rather than Tesla. And now the battery thing (those fat cat manufacturers don't want you to know about the bicarb - honestly, that's what he said) At best you could say he unintentionally runs a testing laboratory producing quite predictable failures to confirm bad practice and ignorance. Joe PS despite my best efforts he has never ever seen the Internet. Sure, he's heard about it ..... --=20 http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
