And with this project in particular when he tell= s > me how much (he thinks) he'll save on the grid power bill.* The following is not intended to be rude. Hopefully its realistic. Joe knows all this, but is tending to be too kind in his depictions. The man concerned has trouble discerning 'normally accepted reality ' (as opposed to real reality which none of us discern, whether it exists or not :-) ). He is unwilling or (probably) unable to accept expert advice or to understand technical reasoning and/or to accept technical reasoning that he does understand if it differs from how he wishes reality to be. Everyone does this to various degrees. He's an outlier. In such cases its interesting and probably useful to discuss the effects of pushing everyday charge voltage beyond any normal sensible limit, or of introducing semi random substances into the battery for whatever reason. Out of those two things arose Jim's most interesting and informative peek under the black magic of lead acid charging. So, I wonder what else this man does that is unorthodox and catastrophic? We may learn more about such systems than we expected.
