The people who discharge their golf cart batteries like this on every cycle the same people who complain that golf cart batteries are only good for a year or less. It is not at all uncommon for sailors who do not understand this to completely destroy a good set of batteries in as little as three months. Limiting the depth of discharge of any lead acid battery will prolong its lifespan, dramatically so under certain conditions. It is also worth noting that golf cart batteries are hardly the best deep cycle batteries either.
