My understanding of magnetic amplifiers are in switching power supplies.=20 They are used in multi-output supplies where high current one output may=20 cause a secondary output to droop. The mag-amp in this case boosts the=20 voltage in the secondary supply when the primary current rises to a high=20 value. This is strictly an AC function. I've never seen anyone do what he's doing with transformers.
