The 2 apps are "I-Trilogi", the IDE for a "TRI-PLC.com" PLC computer=20 managing a standby generator and other house items. It needs Java JRE=20 1.4.2_19, and the developers say it would be difficult to port to Linux=20 or run under Wine. The other is "CMS Intellicad" that won't run (I don't=20 have need for it) VBA under Windows 8. Their forum has indicated it=20 won't run under Wine, but that was 6 months ago. Intellicad is an=20 Autocad clone @ ~$300, $120 annual upgrade that I use heavily. I would=20 welcome something similar under Linux. I do have other apps running=20 under Wine. I haven't needed to get into the running MPLAB IDE recently,=20 but from [PIC] sounds like that's not an issue. A pointing to info on=20 Wine problems would be good. I thought this thread was marginal for the list, but felt that as an=20 early warning of issues for all was worth it, and continue on basics of=20 technical apps issues Oh, last night, tried installing 8.1 from safe mode. Can't run "Store"=20 in safe mode with networking. :( Another failure in normal mode after=20 trying the Intel Q5 graphics Windows 7 (instead of XP PRO) driver.
