Very heavy handed on Microsoft's part. :( So far, I have tried=20 unsuccessfully 4 times to get the install done. If you can say anything=20 good, Go back to store and select the upgrade, doesn't need to do that=20 long download, and then after failure, it does restore the 8.0, but you=20 are without the machine for an hour or so. From what I find, having up=20 to date drivers is important, but I have hardware that doesn't have 8=20 drivers, including the Supermicro C2SPB-Q motherboard with dual core=20 pentium 3.1g CPU. Going to try first starting in safe mode with network,=20 and then strip hardware down to minimum. I have seen online, drivers in=20 particular Nvidia can be issues. Many are having problems. Ubuntu 12.04=20 installs quickly and runs good, but I have several apps that are windows=20 only. :( On 1/3/14 11:11 AM, Justin Richards wrote: > Got forced into doing an upgrade, giving me 15 mins to save my work. > > You really wouldn't want to be in the middle conducting a seminar and the= n > this happens. > > Justin --=20 http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
