I ran a small Sony TV in the instrument cluster of my car for many years=20
with just a 7805 mounted on a piece of scrap sheet aluminum. I picked up=20
the +12v at the fuse panel. Crude but very effective. Temperature of=20
heat sink was monitored by an occasional finger touch...
