Yes, Microchip has always had teething problems with new chips. The=20
EEPROM section of newer PICs has never been fixed; I always read and=20
write in at least 3 places to ensure data accuracy. These efforts were=20
never needed with PIC16Cxxx or PIC18Cxxx; strangely, the program memory=20
area of the newer PICs is not afflicted in this way.
