I second on Rapid, they are good, considerably cheap when you only need few tens or hundreds of components and fast delivery. However, I would only go to Maplin if you need one or two pieces of something in 30 minutes, so you jump into your car and get to their shop in your neighborhood. Otherwise I found some parts 5-10 times more expensive then Rapid or other suppliers.
