Great to hear from you again, I thought you had left the list to. Admin is a thankless task =20 >You've done a good job of driving away the most active contributors I remember James also being accused of this=20 PLEASE nobody forget that Bob's propeller clock has inspired millions of people to use PIC's and still inspires people today My wct 5.asm and related files were downloaded 150,000 times a month, when 16f84's were the flavour of the month.=20 Bob's clock must have been double that, I physically helped at least 8 people build one, and am currently helping an employee of mine to build on= e It's still a worthy project for a first venture into the world of microcontrollers > Rm a moderator Bob, all my heartfelt sympathy goes out to you=20 PC -----Original Message----- From: piclist-bounces@mit.edu [mailto:piclist-bounces@mit.edu] On Behalf Of Bob Blick Sent: 11 November 2013 16:28 To: Microcontroller discussion list - Public. Subject: Re: [OT] 3D printed stainless steel gun > Rm a moderator is this some kind of sick joke ? >=20 > Peter Cousens Hi Peter, In a way, yes. Several years ago the Piclist was very noisy(non-PIC, non-engineering) and I was making quite a stink about is. Russell was also making a stink, mostly on the other side. We fought a lot. James got upset and tired of dealing with it. His method of "solving" the problem was to make Russell and I take his place. So you are at least half right, I am the other part of the sick joke that i= s the active part of Piclist admin. My job as admin involves fixing the day-to-day technical problems and dealing with bounced emails and spam. And when I post to the list it's usually to say something on the order of "shut up or you're out of here" which sometimes works, sometimes adds fuel to the fire. Also listed are several other admins, but they are smart and ignore the Piclist for the most part. There's more to it, of course, but I loved your comment so I wanted to find an excuse to quote it back :) It's great to see you back, Peter. It is a different Piclist now, the elephant in the room being the Microchip forum.
